His Or Hers? A Masculine Twist For A Boldly Feminine Fashion Statement

Men are from Mars.  Women are from Venus.  Or so they say.  But the world of fashion this fall seems to view our inherent gender differences as an opportunity for collaboration, rather than the traditional view of separation – and that’s a welcome view, indeed.  But what does that mean when it comes to style?  Quite simply, it means unprecedented freedom, especially in the world of jewelry fashion.  A brand new trend in fashion this year is bringing the masculine and the feminine together, giving us plenty of bold jewelry elements to play with to create our own, one-of-a-kind style statements with anything-goes accessory combos paving the way in the fashion freedom revolution – no matter which planet you’re from. [caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="253"]Trendy Ear Climbers Trendy Ear Climbers[/caption] The “his and hers” fashion trend emerging this fall brings with it the return of many perennial favorites, but the trend setters are wearing them a different way this time around.  The classic bomber jacket has made a valiant comeback, for example, but this year we’re wearing it with a slinky skirt or something equally feminine to offset the “Top Gun” feel.  Similarly, nothing compares to a great Fedora, but this year we’re classing it up even further with an eye-catching pair of cascade earrings.  The big, bold plaids that we’re seeing in the scarves of the season are softened by more delicate jewelry accessories to bring balance to the ensemble as a whole. When it comes to jewelry trends in this vein, the “his & hers” fashion revolution has been building prior to this with the ever-more-popular layered jewelry look.  Layered necklaces and stackable bracelets and rings have been leading the runways for some time, and these creative looks become increasingly daring as people become more comfortable with the trend and begin mixing and matching bolder elements into a single style statement.  This trending jewelry evolution in its current incarnation encourages ever-bolder, “masculine” pieces worn in harmony with delicate textures or “feminine” colors.  All in all, the his & hers jewelry trend is a sign of modern times, as well as future fashion trends; trends that incorporate a human persona, as opposed to an aura defined as strictly masculine or feminine.  Trends that encourage us to make our own style statements, as opposed to following the crowd.  Of course, we’ll continue to take our queues from our beloved, trend-setting fashionistas.  But in this era of fashion freedom, we are free to impose our own interpretations upon the season’s best fashion trends.
